The Super Mario Bros. Movie and McDonald’s joined forces for a worldwide Happy Meal campaign, turning the restaurant experience into an extension of Mario’s universe – playful, collectible, and fun for everyone. I led the art direction and creative execution for the partnership, ensuring that every element, from the toys to the packaging, felt authentic to both brands and delivered an engaging experience for fans.
The campaign featured two toy collections: a plastic set, capturing Mario’s fast-paced, kinetic energy, and a paper set, aligning with McDonald’s sustainability efforts while maintaining interactivity and charm.
Beyond the toys, I led the design of Happy Meal Box art, packaging, in-store displays, POS materials, posters, and merchandisers, seamlessly blending the film’s world with McDonald’s every touchpoint, creating a cohesive global rollout that immersed millions of families in Mario’s world.
