Design and creative direction of massive inflatables featured in New York’s iconic Thanksgiving Day Parade.
Spanning six years (six parades), in partnership between Illumination and Macy’s, I helped...(pun incoming)...breathe life into 3 character balloons: Uncle Dan from Migration, Stuart the Minion and the Grinch. The Grinch flew from 2017 to 2019; Stuart was introduced in 2022 and Uncle Dan in 2023. The design process is an incredible interplay between aerodynamic engineering, safety and pure visual appeal at such scale.
