Super Mario Boots
Event & Display
Design and art direction for a fan event at Nintendo NY.
In a unique collaboration for The Super Mario Bros. Movie, we partnered with Red Wing Shoes to create a meticulously crafted, real-world version of Mario’s iconic boots, bringing the beloved video game artifact to life.
Nintendo creator Shigeru Miyamoto himself announced the boots in a Nintendo Direct presentation, teasing fans to the live unveiling at the flagship Nintendo Store in Rockefeller Center on “Mario Day” (March 10).
The experience began with a secure delivery of the product in a Mario Brothers plumbing van, followed by a dramatic curtain reveal of the museum-like display. Some fans who attended went home with a limited edition Mario Day poster and commemorative boot-imprint plaque. The boots and the event were featured in Hypebeast, Complex and Highsnobiety, among
others.
